Ignacy Lukasiewicz Scholarship for African Masters Students in Poland 2020

Ignacy Lukasiewicz Scholarship:The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange invites applications for the Ignacy Lukasiewicz Scholarship Programme, implemented as part of the “Polish Aid” programme for the 2020/2021 academic session.

The Programme aim is supporting the socio-economic growth of developing countries by raising the educational status and professional qualifications of their citizens constitute the main aim of the Łukasiewicz Scholarship Programme. The offer constitutes a joint scholarship initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, implemented under the framework of the Polish development assistance.

Ignacy Lukasiewicz, the Programme’s patron was an eminent Polish inventor, pharmacist, pioneer of the oil industry and the creator of the kerosene lamp.

The Ignacy Lukasiewicz Scholarship Programme, implemented as part of the “Polish Aid” programme, is addressed to the nationals of the following developing countries: Angola, Chile, Colombia, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Myanmar, Nigeria, Palestine, Peru, The Republic of South Africa, The Philippines, Senegal, Tanzania, and Vietnam. The aim of the Programme is to support the socio-economic development of the above-mentioned countries.

Worth of Award

    • Participation in the Programme enables to undertake studies at universities in Poland and other forms of education (preparatory course preceding studies).
    • NAWA Director’s scholarship is granted for the duration of the preparatory course and for the regulatory period of studies with an exemption from education fees at public universities.
  • A monthly maintenance scholarship from the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange to cover the costs of accommodation and living.
  • The scholarship is paid for a maximum of 12 months in the academic year once a month through the higher education institution.

Eligibility of the Ignacy Lukasiewicz Scholarship:

    • be citizens of one of the following countries: Angola, Ethiopia, Philippines, India,
      Indonesia, Kenya, Colombia, Lebanon, Mexico, Myanmar, Nigeria, Palestine, Peru,
      South Africa, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam or other countries covered by
      Official Development Assistance (ODA), with the exception of developing countries
      of Europe and Central Asia.
    • not be Polish citizens and must not have applied for Polish citizenship;
    • plan to commence second-cycle studies or a preparatory course in the academic year
      2020/21;
    • be students of the last year of first-cycle studies in the fields of engineering and
      technical sciences, agricultural sciences, exact sciences and life sciences at the time of
      submitting the application to the Programme or have obtained a diploma of completion
      of first-cycle studies in the above-mentioned fields not earlier than in 2017;
    • not have previously obtained a Master’s degree (second-cycle or uniform Master’s
      studies). If the two-cycle studies system is not universally in place in the country in
      which the student has obtained her or his first-cycle studies diploma, it is admissible
      to accept Applicants who hold a Master’s or equivalent diploma obtained no earlier
      than in 2017, as well as Applicants who are students of the last year of these studies,
      conducted in the fields of engineering and technical sciences, agricultural sciences,
      exact sciences and life sciences.
  • not have previously been granted a scholarship under the Programme;

How to Apply for the Ignacy Lukasiewicz Scholarship:

  • Application is done by filling out the form on their websites
  • Submission of an application through the system results in a change of the application status to “submitted” and the applicant receives an e-mail message with the application reference number. The applicant can submit only one application for their chosen degree
    programme.
  • In the case of multiple application submissions by a given candidate, only the application submitted first will be considered. Only complete applications are considered for assessment.

Deadline: applications shall be conducted until March 16th, 2020 3 pm Central European Time (Warsaw local time).
